27 April 2010
Star Creation is an exciting new competition that aims to uncover new local and Asian talents in the world of fashion design. As an integral event under the Asia Fashion Exchange, this fashion design contest will pit budding designers against one another, with 12 finalists chosen from throughout Asia. The competition recognises the creativity of young Asian fashion designers, and helps them to pursue their goals of becoming a recognised name in the fashion industry.
Star Creation will announce three winners, who will each be awarded a handsome cash prize from Audi and a one-year work apprenticeship with FJ Benjamin, a leading Asian fashion house in Singapore. The aim is to groom these aspiring designers into fashion stars of tomorrow, with design workshop facilities and resources under the mentorship of FJ Benjamin during the apprenticeship.
At the end of their attachments, these designers will get the opportunity to design and launch a personal capsule collection in their name, which will be showcased at the next Asia Fashion Exchange event in 2011, and be on their way to greater things in the fashion industry.
Of the 3 Star Creation finalists, one will receive the Audi Young Designer Award, a separate award with a different set of judging criteria. Judges will look out for the designer that best interprets the Audi design spirit, characterised by innovation, technology and progression, materialised into one of their six pieces which will be showcased at the fashion show.
Winners will be unveiled at the Audi Fashion Festival Gala Event on 27 April, so join us as we welcome the newest additions to Asia’s rising fashion talents.
